In the heart of the old town

The location is amazing, exactly in the heart of the old city, with beautiful views, close to all main attractions. The hotel is nicely decorated and has a real romantic atmosphere. The room amenities were regular, a little spartan maybe. The breakfast buffet does not have too many options, but the inhouse restaurant is nice.

In a great place within walking distance to absolutely everything. Wonderful staff.

Beautiful view of the plaza outside. Comfortable beds. Everything very clean. The staff are all very friendly and helpful. I would certainly stay here again. The bar staff exceedingly amiable and gave us generous amounts of ice to take to our room.

The soundproofing not so good. You could hear showers, loos flushing and doors banging. No way to change the television programmes to original audio.

A cosy, friendly, comfortable hotel in a convenient location in picturesque, historic surroundings.

The location is superb, opening onto a beautiful square in the historic centre with the magnificent old University building right beside it. Very convenient for restaurants, shops, and other attractions. The hotel staff were very helpful, ordering taxis, giving advice and information. The rooms and decor are charmingly old-fashioned, the beds very comfortable and the air-con efficient. Our family's rooms both looked out onto the square and old University but were quiet nevertheless. Buffet breakfast was very good with a wide choice. The water cooler (with slices of fresh lemon) in reception was very popular with our group! We would love to return – when the weather is slightly cooler!!!

Breakfast coffee was from a machine and mediocre, although customers at the bar (at the same time) got it freshly made. We had one evening meal and the food was fine (if unexcptional) but was spoiled by the indifference, verging on rudeness, of the waitress on duty, in great contrast to the rest of the staff. She put us off trying eating there again. The water in the shower sometimes took 5 minutes to warm up although at other times it was scalding immediately.

Beautiful ,traditional building set in the heart of the city with superb facilities.

Location was superb in the old town overlooking gardens but it was a little complex finding the car parking which was a short walk away and involved carrying cases up a difficult set of stairs. Our room was spacious,clean and comfortable . The break fast was good with a wide choice of food which was of a good quality. We stayed when the city hosted the biggest medieval fair in Europe ,what a wonderful experience.

The evening meal was good but the menu restrictive everything else was excellent.

Great hotel in historic old town

Excellent hotel in the centre of the town, ideally located for enjoying this beautiful place. Comfortable room with great bathroom. Nice bar with outside seating areas to enjoy the sites in the beautiful square. Parking available less than 5 minutes walk away.

Charming property in awesome location

Beautiful location. Feels very historic. Tons of charm.

Parking is a bit confusing and spaces are TIGHT. Rooms are a bit dated and linens scratchy. We had an uncomfortable situation with a resident guest and it didn’t seem like the staff were really going to do much about it.

It's an old building so sound proofing might happen with future renovations but one may be affected.

Excellent location

The location was very central, located in one of the main squares, so it was very easy to access everywhere easily on foot. The hotel staff was welcoming. The room was large and clean. The hotel was beautifully designed with old parchments along the the hallways and the stairs. The heating was easy to adjust and effective.

There was a slight smell in the bathroom. The hotel is not soundproof, I was able to hear the guests on the other rooms and the people outside. If it was summer, lacking of a mini refrigerator would be problematic but since it wasn't that warm during my stay I haven't looked for that in the room facilities when I am booking.
